How to apply for a Working with Children Check Victoria (WWCC)
Volunteer WWCC are free & are renewed every 5 years.
*We require all parents/guardians who are volunteering with the program to hold a current Working with Children Check card, with Warrnambool City Council list as a place you volunteer to ensure compliance with Council’s Child Safety Policy & the Child Safe Standards.

- Click on the above link and follow the prompts to fill out the online form
- Prove your identity with documents using your phone
- It is a legal requirement to register the organisation where you volunteer

After you’ve lodged your application, you’ll receive your application number the next business day via email. You can then use this number to track your application. Your physical card should arrive in the mail in around 4 weeks.
How to update your Working with Children Check Victoria (WWCC)
It is a legal requirement to keep all WWCC details current, including updates to:
- Maintain your current personal details
- Register all organisations where you currently volunteer

To update your details:
- Click on the above link
- Follow prompts to confirm your account details
- Enter the first 8 characters of your Card/Application (no spaces)
- Verify your identity to your phone or email
- You will receive a Security Code. Click ‘Next’
- Scroll down to Change Contact Details, follow steps to update your details
To update the Organisations where you volunteer:
- Scroll down to Add an Organisation tab
- Add details for all organisations where you volunteer with children
- Remove organisations that no longer apply
- New organisations added will receive an assessment notice confirming your WWCC details update

To enter details of Child – related work (required):
- Scroll down to Child-related work
- Select the best fit for your role(s) from the list of child-related occupational fields
- If more than one field applies, then list the code for each field
- Click the ‘Add child-related work’ button and then click on the arrow to choose from the drop down list
