Primary Performers Volunteer Positions

To help out in any of the positions below please make sure you have applied to be a volunteer. Only people that have registered as a 2026 Primary Performer volunteer can participate 

Primary Performers Stage Helpers - Pink Vest Person

Role Purpose: Assist side stage by observing children and interacting with anyone that:

  • May look like they’re not on the correct page
  • Are struggling to following along – it’s a good idea to have a script handy to follow along yourself  
  • Quietly speak to any children who are talking when they should be listening
  • Keep an eye out for any children that may have moved away from the group and are in an area that they should not be
  • Keep an eye out for children leaving to use the bathroom, check on them if they go missing for an extended periods

Stage Helpers should wear a pink vest to ensure the Directors and Children know who is working in that role at each rehearsal. A script and vest are available from the sign-in desk.

Primary Performers Music/Band - Main Theatre/Studio 
Team Leader: Warren Easley 

Role Purpose: Become a member of the band/orchestra

  •  If you play an instrument or a looking to return to an instrument this is the place for you
    The band/orchestra rehears on Sunday's.  
     

Primary Performers Set Building - WTC SHED 
Team Leader: Willy Benter 
Koroit Street, Warrnambool VIC 3280 (opposite Showgrounds)

Role Purpose: Assist with set building by providing support with:

  • Building of set pieces, including cutting, screwing, nailing and manual tasks
  • Assist with painting of set per set designs
  • Assist with the painting of props
  • Help decorate Set, i.e. adding flows, netting, and finishing pieces.
  • Assist with clean-up of Set building area   
    Set Volunteers will be required to work off site at Good Win Hall under the supervision of the Set Building leader and generally get together on Sunday’s and some Wednesday during rehearsals.

Primary Performers Costume - Green Room
Team Leader: Jane Phipps 

Role Purpose: Assist the costume team to create costume for the characters in the show

  • No sewing skill necessary
  • Sewing and stitching
  • Organising of spreadsheets to help team ensure they have created the correct costumes for each child.
  • Use of hot glue gun
  • Help creating unique costume piece for characters.

Primary Performers Hair & Makeup - Green Room 
Team Leader: Angela Jones

Role Purpose: Assist children with Hair and Makeup during performance week.

  • Applying stage make up
  • Creating character Hair up styles
  • Help set up of makeup stations and supplies
  • Check children have correct hair style
  • Securing head pieces 

Primary Performers Props - Green Room

Role Purpose: Assist the props team by providing support with:

  • Building of set props
  • Assist with the painting of props
  • Help decorate props, i.e. adding flows, netting, and finishing pieces.
  • Assist with clean-up of Props area
  • Assist with cataloguing of Props
